We have escaped, now it's time to build...

It is with excitement and anticipation that I am writing my final post on The Great Escape. On recent reflection, I decided that after a couple of years of writing under this banner it is time to move on.

The final chapter of the blog is timely as we have recently celebrated our first anniversary of living in Adelaide and are about to embark upon an exciting 2nd year of life in South Australia.

To mark the next stage of our adventure, a new blog will be developed to coincide with the building of our home in McLaren Flat, aptly titled The Big Build.

Thank you to all the loyal Great Escape readers for your support over the last couple of years and I look forward to you joining me on The Big Build!

Greetings from the UK!

Finally the secret is out!

For about 6 months we have been plotting to surprise Dan's Dad at his 60th birthday party and arrived in the UK last Saturday, a week ahead of the party. We went straight into hiding by spending a week at my parents in Gloucester which gave us opportunity to catch up with everyone there and shake off any jet lag ahead of the big night! Any of you who keep up with my 'twitter' may have read into my coded messages - the 'Chinese takeaway' was actually had in Hong Kong!
