Happy happy

It's 5.15pm and I've just finished work for the day. I'm just waiting for Dan to arrive and then we will go to the gym but in the meantime I thought I'd quickly touch base with the blog as I'm conscious it's ages since I wrote!

So... the last you heard from us was the slideshow in memory of Charlene. What a sad sad week that was...

You'll be pleased to hear that a quick grieving process was undertaken and we now have a new member of the family - Harry! Harry is a beautiful black Holden Astra who is really making us very happy! It has been from one extreme to the other but the joy of having a shiny car has been priceless! We keep saying it's like driving a hire car every day!

We've had a busy few weeks house hunting too as our tenancy comes to an end in 4 weeks. We'd decided to 'downsize' and save some money for when we move into our super-duper big house. However, on looking at the options we decided to stay where we are - and pay MORE rent than ever as it has gone up! Again though, the thought of not having to move and the opportunity to stay in our lovely home for another year has brought very big smiles to our faces so is all worth it.

Our new gym and healthy eating regime has been keeping us busy and out of trouble, as has work. I'm missing the long summer evenings (it's dark now!) but it is still lovely to have sunshine and blue skies during the day. This weekend we were able to wander along to Semaphore for brekkie and have a walk on the jetty afterwards. Nice!

And so now we head towards birthday month and have started the debates about how to celebrate them this year. We're not used to winter birthdays but it's still nice to know that a good old barbecue is always an option! (though Dan has it in his head that Queensland is the place to be for his!) Watch this space!
